Dr. Anita Koushik, SMRC Principal Scientist, has been appointed as the Director of the Division of Cancer Epidemiology (DCE) in the Department of Oncology at McGill University.
Dr. Koushik is the inaugural holder of the McGill University Chair in Community Cancer Care at St. Mary's, where she has made significant contributions to advancing community cancer care through innovative research and education. She has an impressive track record in cancer research, particularly in understanding the etiology of cancer to enhance primary prevention and risk assessment.
Her current work, which focuses on ovarian cancer, investigates the role of lifestyle factors in its development and prognosis. As part of the Ovarian Cancer Association Consortium, her research is making significant strides in improving the quality of life for cancer survivors.
