Accessibility
Our commitment to a site everyone can use.
Last updated: September 30, 2026
Target standard
St. Mary's Research Centre wants its website to be usable by everyone, whatever their abilities or the technology they use. The site aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA.
Measures in place
Full keyboard navigation, with a skip link to the main content and a visible focus indicator.
Colour contrast of at least 4.5:1 for body text, text alternatives for informative images, and a hierarchical heading structure for screen readers.
Content available in French and English, language declared on every page, and the system's "reduce motion" setting respected.
Known limitations
Some archived PDF documents — older newsletters, reports — were produced before the redesign and may not be fully accessible. An accessible version can be provided on request.
Captions on YouTube videos depend on the platform and the original recording. The map on the Contact page is accompanied by the written address.
Report a problem
If you have difficulty accessing a page or document, write to research.stmary@ssss.gouv.qc.ca and mention the page concerned. We will offer an alternative and fix the problem wherever possible.
